6/6/23: Victories

On June 6, 2023…

By organizing offline we succeeded in getting parents and our community allies INTO the school board room.

By a large majority, the speakers were supportive of GUSD curriculum and policies.

Unruly hecklers - at least two - were escorted out when they refused to comply with meeting protocols.

Outside, over 100 parents and allies provided a peaceful, loving presence in our designated protest area. We were not there for the media attention that the extremists craved - we were there for each other. Despite the extremists’ constant threats and hateful language, we remained calm.

We succeeded in creating the Big Hug - linking arms, chanting "Love, not hate" - organized by @glendaleOut - We would like to send a HUGE thank you to them.
