Public education is under attack.
We know that organizations like the Alliance Defending Freedom and other far-right extremist organizations have worked for decades to undermine public education in order to privatize it.
The attacks on GUSD are part of these broader efforts to delegitimize the democratic norm of free, secular, public education that is available to all children in the United States.
The extremists’ goal? To take a case all the way to the Supreme Court in order to create a taxpayer-funded private school voucher system that would defund and destroy the public education system as we know it today.
