GUSD teacher who lost everything…

Quincy Garvin is one of our GUSD behavior interventionists. He is currently a substitute teacher for our district. He lost everything in the fire.

My name is Quincy Garvin, I recently lost the home I was living in. I lost my car, and much more. I lost literally everything I own to my name due to fires here in Los Angeles California.

This is extremely painful and hurtful for me.

Two years ago, I lost my nieces and Beautiful Mother who burnt to death in a house fire, and now here it is again as a reminder. I’m broken beyond.

Help the Moore Family Restore Their Lives

This GUSD family from Altadena lost everything in the Eaton fire. Please give here.

“This house was so much more than a home to us; it was a sanctuary, a quiet escape that provided tranquility and a space that has seen so many wonderful friends, family, and confidants. Our home was a special place that some of my siblings were fortunate enough to grow up in, but sadly for the younger siblings, aged 3, 5, and 12, they currently have no home to return to. We are hoping that with the generous donations we receive, we can cover any unexpected costs and restore some normalcy to our broken lives.”

Help Maya and Leo After Eaton Fire

GUSD family Maya and Leo lost their home in the terrible Eaton Fire in Altadena, California, on Tuesday night. They evacuated when asked but only brought some overnight bags, never even thinking the fires could destroy an entire city. They lost everything except those two bags of personal items.

Help the Morshed Family Recover

This GUSD (Valley View) family of five lost everything.

The devastating Eaton Canyon Fire has left the Morshed family, a hardworking, loving family of five - Mahbub, Farzana, and their three daughters, Saira, Maya, and Hawa - without their home. Their newly renovated home was tragically destroyed. They now face the unimaginable task of rebuilding their lives from scratch.

Help the Mahmoud-Nishio Family!

GUSD parents Akko and Eugene are pillars of the Pasadena and Altadena community. For 2 years they have been teaching the Afro-Brazilian Martial Art of Capoeira for the youth of their community at Capoeira Batuque Pasadena. They have two beautiful kids of their own who also participate in Capoeira. Both Akko and Eugene are educators (Akko is a Adapted Physical Education Teacher and Eugene is a College Professor). Their hard work and devotion has given many young people a place for positive expression and a sense of belonging. On January 8th, this wonderful Altadena family lost their home in the Eaton Fire and will now have to rebuild everything. Please join us in supporting this loving family.

Help this Fremont Family!

Our dear friends Matt and Monica had just bought their first, dream home in Altadena. It was a simple one bedroom place, barely affordable, but with a big lot that Matt planned to build out. They had settled in with their two kids, Georgia (7) and Charlie (5) and had started to think about their future in this vibrant, beautiful neighborhood.

On Tuesday night, the Eaton fire destroyed their place, leaving Matt, Monica, Charlie and Georgia homeless. We are starting this Go Fund Me to help with what FEMA does not cover, provide support for their kids, and take away just a small amount of pressure.

Help a Fremont 6th grade teacher!

Theresa Osment has been a Fremont teacher for nearly thirty years. She has shaped the lives of so many children in our community with the power of the written word and her deep love and commitment to education. To know Theresa is to absolutely love her. If you or any of your children have ever had the privilege of being taught by her, you know how truly wonderful and special she is. It is hard to find anyone in Glendale whose life hasn't been touched by her.

Help a Cloud Preschool Occupational Therapist!

Our dear friends, the Porters, lost their home and all belongings due to the fires in Altadena. Wendy, Evan, Eliana, and Owen are staying with family while they figure out next steps. Wendy is at OT at Cloud Preschool in Glendale Unified.

Any donations we can help them receive will help them get back on their feet. So many families have lost so much in these extreme fires.

Help a Verdugo Woodlands Elementary speech therapist!

On Wednesday, Monica, Peter, and their son Eben faced an unimaginable loss when their home of 15 years was destroyed in the Altadena fires. While we are incredibly grateful they evacuated safely, they were unable to save their belongings, leaving them to start from scratch.

Altadena has been their sanctuary—a place filled with cherished memories and connections. Now, as they and their neighbors face this devastating tragedy, we are reaching out to our community with heartfelt humility, asking for your support to help them rebuild their lives.

Help a GUSD Math Teacher Start Over!

Glendale Math teacher Aurora’s home and entire street was reduced to ashes, leaving her with nothing but a small suitcase, two pictures, and a photo album she managed to save in the chaos.

Now, Aurora needs our help to rebuild her life. Instead of sending only thoughts, prayers, and positive vibes, let’s take action. Your generosity will help provide her with the resources to start anew. While this won’t replace everything she’s lost, it will give her the foundation to begin her journey toward healing and rebuilding.

This image captures what little remains of Isa’s home after the devastating fire. Isa has not yet been permitted to visit the area herself to sift through the rubble for anything that might have miraculously survived. However, a friend who briefly gained access to the closed street was able to take this photo and share it with Isa.

The destruction is overwhelming, and the reality of this loss is still sinking in for both she and the kids. Despite losing her home, Isa is trying to remain positive for herself and the kids. She has been incredibly moved by outpouring of love and support from all of you.

Help Mountain Avenue Elementary Family Recover

I am Charley's father and Sara's ex-husband. Sara & Charley have lost their home in the Eaton Fire. Sara & I bought our first home together in Altadena back in 2013. It is the home we brought Charley into after she was born, where Charley said her first word (Dada), where she took her first steps, and where we had many happy family moments together before our marriage ended.

When Sara & I decided to separate in 2019, it was important to both of us that Charley stay in her home. I am gut-wrenched that my daughter lost her house. I feel terrible that my ex has lost everything because her main focus was getting our daughter to safety instead of packing trinkets & mementos from their lives.

Boskas gofundme

Help the Boskas Family Recover

This GUSD (Lincoln Elementary) family lost everything.

I know it won’t bring back what they’ve lost, but my hope is to help them as they get back on their feet. School clothes, supplies, toys, food, temporary housing, etc., while they navigate this long, rough road. If you know the Boskas, you know what kind, generous, loving people they are. I’m hoping we can come together and return that generosity in their time of need

Lara is the person who is the first to lend a hand of support to anyone. She is normally the one who sets up meal trains and gofundmes for new mamas and friends who need assistance. She was the volunteer Secretary board member of Cottage for many years giving her time, energy and resources to support the Cottage Co-op school as well as the greater community. Steve works at Caltech and their three children went to local Altadena public schools. Everything they owned and loved has been destroyed.

On Tuesday January 7th, my sister Raquel and her two children, Beth and Jackson, had to evacuate their beautiful home in Altadena, California because of the Eaton fire. Her home suffered damages and most of the street has been destroyed and their house is no longer safe for them to live in. This fire has left them in a state of uncertainty and fear but they are determined to rebuild their lives and find a safe place to call home. Your generous donations will go directly towards providing them with temporary housing, food and supplies. As a single mom, she can't afford to still pay for her mortgage and temporary housing. Every dollar counts and will make a significant difference in helping them get back on their feet. Please consider donating and sharing our campaign with your friends and family. Together, we can overcome this tragedy and restore hope for my sister and her family. Thank you.

They need to rebuild their lives again from scratch! I can’t even imagine. I am asking for help from those who can to try to make this awful process a little less painful for them, especially their brilliant kids. They lost, literally, everything except the clothes on their backs, and they’re some of the best people I’ve ever known.
