LOCAL PARENTS' GROUP CALLS ON HILTON GLENDALE TO CUT TIES WITH EXTREMIST GROUP

Glendale, California— GUSD Parents for Public Schools calls on the Hilton Glendale to cancel its planned hosting of a “Leadership Institute Conservative Campaign Management" training seminar. Leadership Institute is the training arm of designated extremist anti-government organization Moms for Liberty.

Leadership Institute founder Morton Blackwell was honored by Moms for Liberty at their recent annual conference and his organizations “have advocated for abolishing public schools and voluntarily replacing them with ‘free-market private schools, church schools, and home schools.’”*

Local agitators aligned with Moms for Liberty’s anti-public school, anti-government agenda have already brought chaos, bigotry, and violence to Glendale. By hosting this event Hilton Hotels provides a platform and space for further radicalization and anti-LGBTQ+ activism and organization.

GUSD Parents for Public Schools is a diverse group of concerned parents and community members dedicated to supporting and protecting our public schools as the first line of defense of an inclusive civil society. We ask the Hilton Glendale and Hilton Hotels broadly to stand with our LGBTQ+ and public school community and refuse to do business with groups who threaten our freedom and safety.
