glendaleOUT and GUSD Parents for Public Schools Call for

Community Pride Flag Display

Glendale, CA: This weekend in California, mother, business owner, friend and ally to the LGBTQ+ community Lauri Carleton was murdered by a man enraged by her display of a pride flag. In Yerevan, Armenia, a trans woman we know only as Adriana was murdered in her home which was then set on fire.

glendaleOUT and GUSD Parents for Public Schools mourn the loss of these women and understand their deaths as the extension of the anti-LGBTQIA+ rhetoric and hate employed by groups who attack our schools and community.

To honor the lives lost, and to celebrate and affirm our vibrant and loved LGBTQIA+ community and its allies, our organizations have partnered to purchase 100 Pride flags for display at homes and businesses around Glendale.

Flags will be distributed free to any who want one for their home or business and widespread, fearless display in solidarity with the LGBTQ community is encouraged.

The first distribution date will be 9/2 at 10am at glendaleOUT's First Saturdays Coffee.

Donations in support of glendaleOUT are welcome and can be made at: https://tinyurl.com/glendaleOUT.

To request a flag for your home or business please email: glendaleout@gmail.com
